Closure of footbridge over River Wharfe at Addingham

I realize that some of you already know, but for the benefit of those who do not, the footbridge over the River Wharfe at Addingham has been closed by the North Yorkshire County Council “due to danger to public from an unsafe bridge.”. Each end of the bridge is closed with metal fencing.

An Order 2018 No.408 is from the 23rd October to the 1st April 2019!  If interested, the order can be viewed in full on the North York’s C.C.website.

Fortunately, only one LWR walk in the current autumn walks programme involves crossing the bridge. The leaders are already aware and will be advising details of an amendment to their walk shortly.
