Travel Update: The train service that arrives in Settle at 10:06 is only departing from Skipton at 9:45, there is no train service departing from Leeds to Skipton.  Travel to this walk is now only by car.

We'll meet at Settle Train Station, the start of the historic Settle-Carlisle Line to meet the 10:06 arrival from Leeds ~ (Departs Leeds 08:59 – Off-Peak Day Return Ticket £14.00).  Those wishing to arrive by car could use the Ashfield Car Park which is near the train station (Cost for over 4 hours parking is £3.90 according to the Craven District Council website).

From Settle we'll climb up to our first waterfall of the day, Scaleber Force.  We then retrace our footsteps along the road before we'll continue climbing until we reach the stunning geological formation of Warrendale Knots. We then continue along Attermire Scar, enjoying fine views over the Southwestern Yorkshire Dales and possibly Pen Y Ghent and Ingleborough.

We will then stop for lunch at Victoria Cave, after lunch we will follow easy tracks to our next waterfall – Catrigg Force with spectacular view of Pen Y Ghent before descending to the pretty village of Stainforth.

From Stainforth we will follow easy tracks back to Settle for drinks and possibly food before those that arrived by train head off to catch the 17:34 (Arr 18:34) or 19:06 (Arr 20:07) train back to Leeds.

Sorry no dogs allowed due to cows with calf in the fields.
