Pathwatch was launched following the 2015 Big Pathwatch survey. It’s the Ramblers’ online tool and app that enables walkers to report footpath problems. So, when you’re out walking and you come across a problem, whether it’s an obstruction, a broken stile, missing signpost or any other issue, you can use Pathwatch to report it.

Ramblers will be campaigning this year to promote Pathwatch to walkers across the Country. The aim is to get more people using Pathwatch to keep our footpaths open and walked.

Register with Pathwatch and mark the location of your issue on the online OS map; the system menu then guides you through a range of footpath issues for you to choose from. You can attach photographs and if you want to add other comments there is a tab for that too.

Feedback from walkers is that Pathwatch is easy to use and each footpath issue is passed to the appropriate Local Authority (LA). We recognise that Public Right of Way officers have their work cut out even to deal with the most serious issues; using Pathwatch is one way that we can make sure they are aware of all footpath issues.

Pathwatch’s ease and simplicity lets you report a footpath issue in no time at all. So, if you come across a footpath issue when out walking, why not use Pathwatch to report it on your mobile?
