ramblers Yorkshire

the ramblers West Riding area

North KirkleesOur area comprises North Kirklees, or the Heavy Woollen District as it was previously known, and covers the towns of Dewsbury, Batley, Mirfield, Cleckheaton and Heckmondwike. Although many consider the area to be predominantly urban over 65% of the area is green open space with tremendous potential for good, interesting walks. The area is replete with history; agrarian, industrial and intellectual. It provides the ideal environment for walks in all seasons and all weathers.

We offer a full programme of walks,in our local area and beyond, throughout the year for all ages and abilities. Non-members are welcome to come along and try our walks and we would encourage you to join the Ramblers. All walks are free.
