AGM – 31st January 2026
The West Riding Area AGM will be at 14:00 on the 31st January 2025 and all area members are welcome to join.

We have two walks before the AGM
Walk 1 - The Otley (Literature) Run Starting at 10am
Walk 2 - A walk round some of Leeds' architectural highlights Starting at 11am
Both Walks finishing around 13:30
There will be light refreshments before the AGM at 13:45 with the meeting starting at 14:00, followed by tea, coffee and biscuits at the end of
proceedings.

Welcome to what could be the last AGM of the West Riding Area of the Ramblers – at least it will be my first and last as Chair.
My comments in the Annual Report are primarily about the recommendations of the Review Panel about the future of the Area. The review was somewhat overtaken by proposed changes by the Ramblers at a national level to scrap Areas and change the organization of groups. Whilst these proposals have currently been kicked into the long grass, there can be little doubt that the traditional organization of the Ramblers at grass roots level is going to change.
Consequently, the theme of the 2026 AGM is ‘Looking to the Future’ and how we in the West Riding can best prepare for an uncertain future.
We have deliberately moved the AGM venue to Leeds in order to make it more accessible to all groups. Please take this opportunity to make your voice heard on the future of Ramblers in Yorkshire
After the AGM why not join some of your fellow Ramblers for a drink a one of the bars in Leeds before heading off home.
